Abstracts must be written in English and structured under the following headings: Aims, Methods, Results, and Conclusions, with a maximum word count of 250 words. Each individual may submit up to two abstracts. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission via email in due course. Please note that authors of accepted abstracts will be expected to purchase tickets to attend the conference and present their work.

Mr Sanjib Majumder
Title: Plastic Surgery - why, what & how
Bio: Mr. Sanjib Majumder is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon at the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. He is the Director of the Plastic Surgery National Online Learning Programme and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Leeds Institute of Medical Education.

Mr Chris Hoo
Title: The road less travelled - Unconventional choices
Bio: Mr. Chris Hoo is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Belfast City Hospital. He completed his Plastic Surgery training in Northern Ireland, followed by fellowships in Newcastle and Liverpool. Mr. Hoo specialises in breast reconstruction following cancer or congenital conditions, as well as skin cancer surgery. Alongside his clinical practice, Mr. Hoo is passionate about medical education and is actively involved in teaching at all levels. He also serves as Director of Basic Surgical Skills at the Kingsbridge Training Academy, accredited as a Centre of Excellence by RCSEng.

Mr Richard Clough

Bio: Richard graduated from Newcastle medical school and has subsequently trained on the South Coast, in London and now in the North West. Within work, Richard is passionate about microsurgical reconstruction and improving plastic surgery training issues. Outside of work, Richard is passionate about the outdoors and previously took a 6 month sabbatical to hike the USA from top to bottom.

Ms Serena Martin
Bio: Miss Serena Martin is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon who completed her training in Northern Ireland, followed by specialist fellowships in cleft surgery (Oxford), paediatric burns and plastics (Manchester), and aesthetic surgery (BAAPS mentorship, Royal Tunbridge Wells).
A former BAAPS representative for PLASTA, she developed and led the highly successful BAAPS/PLASTA Aesthetic Webinar Series. Miss Martin is actively involved in overseas cleft surgery with the Overseas Plastic Surgery Appeal and has received numerous academic and surgical awards for her contributions to aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.

Mr Paul McArthur
Bio: Mr. Paul McArthur is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon based in Liverpool, specializing in congenital hand and upper limb surgery. He trained at Newcastle University, and earned a PhD at the University of Sheffield. His higher surgical training took place on the Liverpool Rotation, with fellowships in Manchester and North Carolina, USA.
Appointed consultant in 2003, he has worked at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and the Mersey Regional Plastic Surgery Unit, serving as Clinical Director from 2009–2016. Mr. McArthur is actively involved in medical education and professional bodies, currently serving as President of BAPRAS. He has also contributed to the Intercollegiate Specialty Examination Board for Plastic Surgery, serving as an examiner (2009–2022) and FRCS(Plast) assessor from 2022.

Ms Claire Black
Bio: Ms. Claire Black is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. She specializes in skin oncology, burns and burn reconstruction, and vascular anomalies in children. Ms. Black completed fellowships at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the St Andrews Centre for Plastic Surgery & Burns and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Ms Joanna Skillman
Bio: Ms Joanna Skillman is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon known for her patient-centred approach, meticulous standards and tailored aesthetic and reconstructive care. She studied at Cambridge and Oxford, and completed broad surgical training across the UK and Sydney.
She has specialist expertise in breast reconstruction, microsurgery and cosmetic surgery, and undertook both an oncoplastic fellowship and a dedicated cosmetic fellowship. Ms Skillman is also a trainer on the Royal College of Surgeons’ Oncoplastic Skills Course and has published more than 30 papers. She also authored the surgical section of the National Oncoplastic Guidelines.
