DESCRIPTION:This one-day course held in the Surgical Skills Centre, involves a competency based approach to Septoplasty and Rhinoplasty Techniques for a maximum of 10 Surgical Trainees.  Candidates will be working in pairs on a Thiel fixed cadaver based work station. A series of structured exercises have been devised so that trainees can complete a variety septorhinoplasty simulations covering the following\n\nMid columella and hemitranfixion incisions\n\nSeptoplasty\n\nHump reduction and osteotomies\n\nTip sculpturing and basic tip suturing\n\nSpreader graft\n\nDorsal graft\n\nColumella strut\n\n  \nWORKSTATION HANDS ON TRAINING\n\nThe course provides:\n\nInstruction in the use of instrumentation\n\n“Hands on” practical anatomical and surgical skills experience using cadavers\n\nPersonal tuition from experienced otolaryngologists\n\nEvidence of skills training and competency\n\n
